Tiny art has found a home in some people–but not only the tiny ones

For now, a new program is beginning to look like something special, perhaps a record-breaker, even for Shea Alltmont, the extremely creative communications manager [and artist] at the Avon Lake Public Library.

“The Avon Lake Public Library is hosting its first ever ALPL Tiny Art Show. A Tiny Art Show is exactly as it sounds–it’s like a regular art show, only tiny,” said Alttmont. “The ALPL Tiny Art Show is free and open to artists of all skill levels from ages 10 to adult years old to participate.”

Those who wanted to try some “tiny art” registered to receive a mini art kit to create their masterpiece. The kit included a mini canvas (4″x 4″), paintbrush and paint to create a masterpiece at home.

Shea noted everyone could use any supplies at home to make a mini canvas uniquely yours as long as it is “family friendly.”

The Tiny Art Show runs through Mar. 30. More than 100 potential artists took a chance in the non-judged show–and what a show it is. One can take time because the art has to be looked at quite close up. But so many times a piece is quite surprising.

Stop by before March 30 for a look at one of the most unique art shows we all will probably ever see.

The Avon Lake Public Library is located at 34629 Electric Boulevard or call 440-933-8128
