Mild weekend, many dry days ahead

A cold front pushed through Ohio earlier in the day, leaving considerable cloud cover and breezy conditions. The chilliest air will skirt Ohio well to the northeast, but afternoon temperatures will hover in the low 40s in central Ohio, after reaching a mild 52 on Thursday.

The clouds will thin out later in the day, with clearing skies overnight. Morning readings will dip into the crisp mid- to upper 20s.

A ridge of high pressure will build down from Ontario to the Mid-Atlantic, forcing low pressure in the southern Plains to remain well south of the Ohio Valley. Skies will be mainly sunny. Temperatures will reach the 40s both Saturday and Sunday.

Next week looks to be quiet and unseasonably mild. A weak cold front will bring a slight cool-down on Tuesday, before readings rebound into the 50s with a southwesterly flow behind high pressure later in the week.
