BEACHWOOD, Ohio — In its inaugural meeting of 2024, City Council hosted a number of swearings-in Monday (Jan. 8) and acknowledged that a first was taking place. With four women on the dais, council, for the first time in city history, had a majority female membership.
The Nov. 7 election saw the Councilwomen June Taylor and Danielle Shoykhet returned to office, and first-time candidates Ali Stern and Jillian DeLong elected to seats. The four ran as a slate.
