CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cleveland is one of two Ohio cities considered among the least safe in the U.S., according to an analysis released recently.
The results from the study by Scholaroo, a website that helps college students with scholarships, likely isn’t surprising to Cleveland residents, with the city combating a surge in violence in 2023. Cleveland is expected to come close to its record of 195 homicides in a year, which was set four decades ago.
In the ranking of 150 cities, Cleveland is at No. 142. Cincinnati is at No. 147. Detroit, Michigan, finished last.
St. Paul, Minnesota, is the safest large city in the U.S. according to the analysis.
